One minor grip though, Adeline Chetail is no longer the french voice actress for the narrator. I guess this lead to one potential concern:ĭoes this mean that the first 5 chapters will all end with a boss battle against the Taranis? How will these ecounters differ?Īnyway I'm hooked, I definitely won't just put it aside for Zelda, I'll play both throughout the coming weeks. I assume this is how the early chapters will play out, with you saving and retrieving one child per chapter. After winning, a story reason allows you to teleport the child that was inside the Soul canon back to you. So while using it doesn't permenatly punish you like with the soul canon, the game is clearly telling you to avoid if you want to play optimally. Incidently, using it means getting no experience for that battle. It isn't an instant win button, but a powerful attack that can only be used once (per battle or per chapter, I don't remember). This canon does not sacrifice one your party members, but renders them uncounscious until they can rest in the next interlude. You also have your own equivalent to the Soul canon (I forgot what it's called) in the Tarascus, but it works differently. Meanwhile you also have to deal with the regular canons shooting at you (they have low health, but regenerate after a while). You can choose between 2 dialogue options, if you choose the correct one, the kid in question will react, which will waste one of the canon's turn. The health bar has 3 thresholds, upon which you have the opportunity to talk with the mind controlled child in order to get them to snap out of it. The goal was to empty the Soul canon's health bar before its third turn where it would use the child's lifeforce to fire and instant kill you. This first boss battle against the Taranis is where Fuga 2 shows a different dynamic with the combat. This same unknown force is also mind controlling them, notably to force one of the kids to use the soul canon (and therefore sacrificing themself). You start with Malt, Kyle, Sheena, Chick and Hack, they're trying to save Mei, Hana, Socks, Boron and Britz who are mysteriously trapped inside the Taranis by an unknown force. As we knew from the official promo material, the role of both tanks have been reversed, with you playing with the Tarascus chasing the Taranis. I played through the first chapter, here's the new hook
